How a short link actually works
A short link is a tiny code that points to a long URL. When someone opens it, our server looks up the code and instantly redirects them - in milliseconds - while recording the click.
You shorten
Paste a long URL. We store it and generate a short code, so example.com/very/long/… becomes w2.ro/aX9k2.
You share
Share the short link or its QR code anywhere - social, email, SMS, print, ads.
Someone clicks
Their browser asks w2.ro for that code. Our server finds the original URL behind it.
Instant redirect
We send an HTTP redirect to the real page and log the click - country, referrer, device - for your analytics.

Link limits count your active short links; delete old ones to free up space, or move up a plan any time. Frequently asked questions
Is there really a free plan?
Yes. The Free plan gives you up to 10 active short links on the w2.ro domain, with click analytics, QR codes, at no cost and no card required.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes, on Pro and Business. Point your domain's DNS at w2.ro and your links become yourbrand.com/xxxxx. The Free plan uses the w2.ro domain.
Where is my data stored?
On DreamServer infrastructure in our Bucharest datacenter, EU jurisdiction, GDPR-aligned. We never sell your data or inject ads into your links.
What happens if I stop paying?
After a grace period, the account is suspended: your links are paused (visitors see an "inactive link" page, so they stop generating traffic) and you cannot create new ones - but nothing is deleted. Pay the invoice and everything reactivates instantly. If it stays unpaid, the account is terminated and the links are deleted.
Is there an API?
Yes, on the paid plans (Starter and up). Your account gets an API key and a REST API to create, edit, list and delete links and read their statistics.
