Inside the DreamServer Datacenter

We own and operate the facility in Bucharest, so the power, cooling, network and hands-on staff are all ours, no reseller in the middle.

Diesel Generator + UPS

Online UPS systems bridge every blip, and an on-site diesel generator carries the load through extended utility outages. Your servers simply never notice.

N+1 Precision Cooling

Redundant precision cooling with hot/cold separation holds a steady temperature and humidity, with environmental monitoring across the room.

Security & Access Control

24/7 on-site staff, CCTV and controlled access. Only authorized people reach the racks, and every entry is logged.

Carrier-Grade Network

Multi-carrier fiber into AS57050, native IPv6, MANRS participation, and free peering at the DSIX internet exchange we operate.

Remote Hands, 24/7

Our engineers are on-site around the clock for reboots, cabling, media swaps and troubleshooting, so you don't have to drive to the datacenter.

DDoS Protection

sFlow-monitored RTBH filtering on our BGP edge blackholes volumetric floods upstream, before they reach your rack. BGP customers can trigger blackhole communities themselves.

Server Colocation, Explained

The short version: you own the server, we own everything around it, power, cooling, bandwidth and security in our Bucharest datacenter.

Your hardwareYou own & control it
+
Our datacenterPower, cooling, network
=
ColocationYours, professionally hosted

Server colocation (often shortened to "colo") means you own the physical server and we provide the home for it: rack space, redundant power, cooling, bandwidth and physical security inside our datacenter in Bucharest, Romania. Instead of running a noisy, power-hungry machine in an office closet, or renting hardware you will never own, you ship us your server and it lives in a professional facility on a carrier-grade network under our own autonomous system, AS57050.

You keep full ownership and complete root-level control of the machine. We keep the power clean, the temperature steady and the network fast and protected. It is the middle ground between buying dedicated hosting (where the provider owns the metal) and building your own server room (where you pay for power, cooling, connectivity and redundancy yourself): you get datacenter-grade infrastructure without the capital cost of building one.

How DreamServer Colocation Works

Our engineers handle every physical step for you.

1

Choose a size

From a single 1U to a full rack. Tell us your power and bandwidth needs, or we size it with you.

2

Ship your hardware

Any standard 19-inch rack server. Drop it off in Bucharest or send it by courier.

3

We rack & power it

Dual A+B power (included), your active-active 1 Gbps ports, IPv4 + IPv6 with reverse DNS.

4

Manage remotely

Full root plus your own IPMI / iLO / iDRAC. Physical help? 24/7 remote hands, one ticket away.

5

Scale anytime

Add units, power, bandwidth, IPs, eBGP sessions or free DSIX peering as you grow.

Colocation vs Dedicated vs Cloud

Colocation wins when you already own (or want to own) the hardware and plan to run it long-term.

What Can You Host in Colocation?

Anything that runs on a server you own, from web and databases to virtualization, storage, game servers and your own BGP router. It fits workloads a shared VPS cannot, and beats cloud on cost once usage is steady.

Web & application servers

High-traffic sites, APIs, reverse proxies and containers on hardware that is entirely yours.

Databases

MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB or Redis on fast local NVMe, with no noisy-neighbour I/O contention.

Virtualization & private cloud

Proxmox, VMware or KVM hosting dozens of VMs and containers on a single box you own.

Backup & storage

NAS, object storage and off-site backup targets with lots of cheap capacity under your control.

Game servers

Low-latency CS, Minecraft, Rust or FiveM servers close to Romanian players, DDoS-protected.

GPU & compute

Rendering, AI/ML inference and batch compute on GPUs that are expensive to rent by the hour.

Network appliances

Your own routers, firewalls and load balancers, including a BGP router announcing your own IP space.

Voice / PBX

Asterisk, FreePBX and SIP infrastructure that needs stable, low-latency connectivity.

CDN & edge nodes

Caching and delivery nodes peered locally at DSIX for fast Romanian and regional reach.

Who Is Colocation For?

The moment you own hardware, or want to, and need it somewhere better than an office closet or a home rack.

Businesses with their own servers

Move them into a real datacenter with redundant power, cooling and a serious network, instead of a back-room cabinet.

ISPs, LIRs & network operators

Rack space plus BGP, your own IP space and free peering at an internet exchange, we run DSIX and are a RIPE LIR on AS57050.

Agencies, resellers & SaaS

Steady, growing load where the cloud bill has quietly become the biggest line item.

Data-residency needs

Keep systems in Romania or the EU for GDPR, latency or contractual reasons.

Developers & enthusiasts

Powerful hardware online 24/7 on a proper connection, without the electricity bill and noise at home.

Gaming communities & server owners

Run a network of low-ping, DDoS-protected game servers on hardware you own, right next to your players.

Not ready to ship hardware? See our dedicated servers or VPS, where we own and manage the metal for you.

Rack your server where the network is ours

Ship us your hardware and go live on a redundant, DDoS-protected, IPv6-native network in Bucharest, from a single 1U to a full rack. Optional BGP, free DSIX peering, and engineers who actually run the fabric.

Colocation FAQ

What colocation sizes do you offer?
Everything from a single 1U to a full 42U rack: 1U, 2U, 4U, quarter rack (~10U), half rack (~21U) and full rack (42U). Each step adds space, power (amperage) and bandwidth. Larger deployments get dedicated circuits, private cages and cross-connects.
What does dual (A+B) power mean and how is it backed up?
Two independent power feeds (A and B) from separate paths. With a dual-PSU server, one PSU per feed keeps you online through a PDU, UPS or upstream failure on either side. The whole facility is backed by online UPS and a diesel generator, so utility outages are ridden through automatically.
How is cooling and the physical environment managed?
N+1 precision cooling holds a stable temperature and humidity with hot/cold separation. The facility has 24/7 on-site staff, CCTV, access control and environmental monitoring.
What is included in the 1U plan?
One rack unit, dual A+B power, two 1 Gbps ports to your server (active-active), 20 TB/month, one IPv4 + an IPv6 allocation with reverse DNS, and remote hands for basic tasks. Optional: BGP on AS57050, DSIX peering, extra IPs and bandwidth.
Can I run BGP and announce my own IP space?
Yes. We are a RIPE NCC LIR on AS57050 with our own address space and DSIX. We set up eBGP so you announce your own prefixes and ASN, multihome and peer at DSIX. See our BGP and LIR services for transit, IPv6 leasing and ASN registration.
How much traffic is included?
The 1U plan includes 20 TB/month; larger units include more, and we offer higher commits, 95th-percentile billing or unmetered ports on request. Traffic over DSIX peering avoids most upstream transit cost.
Do you provide remote hands?
Yes. On-site staff handle reboots, cable checks, media swaps and basic troubleshooting. Simple tasks are included; longer scheduled work is billed per the remote-hands rate. Reach the 24/7 NOC by ticket or phone.
Can I bring my own hardware and is DDoS mitigation included?
Yes to both. Ship or hand-deliver standard 19-inch rack-mountable servers and we rack, cable and power them. Every colocated server sits behind AS57050 with sFlow-monitored RTBH filtering that blackholes volumetric floods at the upstream edge.
Where is the datacenter and what jurisdiction applies?
Our own facility in Bucharest, Romania, inside the EU. GDPR-aligned billing and support, sub-10 ms latency to most Romanian ISPs, and direct access to the DSIX internet exchange.
What are the contract terms and setup time?
Monthly billing, VAT excluded, no long minimum term; annual commitments are discounted. Racking and provisioning typically complete within one business day of hardware arrival.
