Last Summer Discount: blade servers up to 60% off until September 1
Summer is almost over, and so is the price. For the last week of August we are running our Last Summer Discount on HP ProLiant blade servers: real dedicated hardware, in our Bucharest data center, at up to 60% off the regular price. The offer runs until September 1, then prices go back up, so this is genuinely the last week to grab it.
What is on sale
Three blade servers, each a proper dual-CPU machine with a generous amount of ECC RAM, the kind of box you actually want for virtualization, containers or a busy database:
| Server | CPU | RAM | Summer price | Regular |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| HP BL460c G6 | Dual Xeon L5640 | 192 GB | €100 / 500 lei /mo | |
| HP BL460c G7 | Dual Xeon L5640 | 192 GB | €100 / 500 lei /mo | |
| HP BL490c G7 | Dual Xeon E5645 | 288 GB | €150 / 750 lei /mo |
Every one of them ships with 192 GB of ECC RAM minimum (288 GB on the BL490c), 24 cores across two Xeons, up to 2x SAS/SATA drives with RAID 0 or 1, dual 1 or 10 Gbit/s networking, 25 TB of monthly traffic and 10 IPv4 + 10 IPv6 addresses. All hosted in Bucharest on our own AS57050 network, with free peering at DSIX.
Why all that RAM matters
192 GB is a lot of memory for the money, and memory is exactly what you run out of first when you virtualize. On one of these blades you can comfortably run a dozen or more VMs or LXC containers, a Proxmox lab, a Kubernetes node pool, or a memory-hungry database, without the constant “out of RAM” juggling you get on smaller boxes. Dedicated cores, dedicated RAM, no noisy neighbours.
They are also a bargain per gigabyte: at 100 EUR for 192 GB of ECC RAM plus 24 cores, the summer price works out to well under a euro per gigabyte of real, dedicated memory.
The only catch: it ends September 1
There is no catch on the hardware, only on the clock. The discount is live now and disappears on September 1. Order before then and the price is locked for the whole term of your service: it does not jump back up at renewal.
Enjoy the last days of summer, and let one of these blades do the heavy lifting while you are at the beach.
