Autumn offer: an i7-4790 dedicated server at -50%, September 15-30
Autumn is the season for settling in: shorter days, a warm drink, and a good excuse to finally move that project onto hardware you actually control. So for two weeks, 15 to 30 September, we are cutting the price of one of our favourite little workhorses in half. The Intel Core i7-4790 dedicated server is -50% off, which brings a real, bare-metal machine down to 50 EUR a month.
No shared vCPUs, no noisy neighbours, no “fair-use” asterisks. A whole server, in our own Bucharest datacenter, on AS57050, yours for the price most people pay for a mid-size VPS.
What you get
The i7-4790 is a 4-core / 8-thread Haswell chip that still punches well above its age. Paired with the rest of this build, it is more than enough for a surprising range of real workloads:
- CPU: Intel Core i7-4790, 4 Cores / 8 Threads
- RAM: 32 GB
- Storage: 128 GB SSD for the OS, plus 4x SATA + 1x NVMe bays to fill as you like
- Network: 2x 1 Gbps, active-active (bonded for throughput and resilience)
- IP space: 10x IPv4 and 10x IPv6, native
- Traffic: 10 TB per month
You can grow it, too. Optional add-ons include extra IP addresses, additional SSD/HDD, and off-site Proxmox Backup space, so the box scales with the project instead of boxing you in.
The price
- Was: 500 lei / 100 EUR per month
- Now, 15-30 September: 250 lei / 50 EUR per month
And a bonus on top: pay three months upfront and the setup fee is waived. That is the whole thing, no fine print hiding a second invoice.
What it is good for
Half a dozen servers in our own racks started life exactly like this one, so we are not guessing when we say the i7-4790 is a genuinely useful box:
- A game-server host. Four fast cores with hyper-threading and dual gigabit handle a busy game community without breaking a sweat. This is actually the product family it lives in.
- A small Proxmox host. 32 GB of RAM and five drive bays are plenty for a handful of VMs or LXC containers, your own little virtualization lab or production stack.
- Self-hosting, for real. Everything we write about on this blog, a bastion, a monitoring stack, a Nextcloud, a backup manager, runs comfortably on a box like this, with room to spare.
- Dev, test and staging. Dedicated hardware you can push hard without worrying about a hypervisor stealing your cycles.
Why dedicated, and why now
A VPS is wonderful until the moment you want guaranteed cores, full disk control, or just the peace of mind of hardware that is nobody else’s. At 50 EUR a month, the usual reason to hesitate, price, mostly disappears. You get the whole machine, native IPv6, dual-NIC networking, and our network behind it, in a datacenter we run ourselves.
The offer is a short one, 15 to 30 September, and stock is limited, because these are real machines on real shelves, not an infinite cloud SKU.
Grab one
If this sounds like the box your next project deserves, our dedicated servers are the place to start, and the i7-4790 lives in our game-server range . Order it during the window, pay three months upfront to skip the setup fee, and you are running on your own metal by the time the leaves finish falling.
Autumn is short. So is this offer. See you on the hardware.
